About my Practice
I am trained psychodynamically which focuses on areas such as the unconscious, defence mechanisms and unresolved personal relationships (both past and present). I incorporate other models in to my work such as Systemic Therapy (looking at relationships/interactions) and The Cycle of Change (used for alcohol misuse/issues).

Key experience
- Relate Institute (Birmingham). Placement while training in couple counselling, employed basis for few months before leaving to work with WTG. Worked with both individuals and couples, focusing on relationship/communication difficulties (often looking at both their current and past relationships), awareness of domestic violence/abuse and sexuality.
- Worcestershire Community Health Team (Worcester). Worked with clients experiencing alcohol misuse (and other related issues); working towards either reduction control or abstinence from alcohol use. I incorporated the Cycle of Change Model in to my work which focuses on contemplation, action and maintenance. Unresolved issues were often part of the clients’ relationship with alcohol. I also supported those concerned with someone else’s drinking behaviour, i.e: family/friends.
