Gwion Jones trained as a Lacanian Psychoanalyst and has 35 years clinical experience. He lectures in the Clinical Psychology Department at Coventry University, supervises a number of Counsellors and Psychotherapists in the area, is a Registered Psychotherapist and Supervisor with UKCP, Chair of CPJA, Board Member of the College of Psychoanalysts UK, Senior Registered Practitioner with BACP, and a Member of the British Association of Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Supervision www.gwionjones.co.uk
Clinical Lead
Tina Mann is a BACP Accredited Practitioner conducting a number of the initial assessments here at Worcester Therapy Group. She has a Masters in Psychodynamic Counselling as well as a BSc. in Human Communication & its Disorders. In addition she is a trained Couples Counsellor and has a Diploma in Psychosexual Therapy, and is one of 4 couples therapists attached to the practice. More recently, Tina has achieved a Diploma in Grief Counselling and a Certificate in Understanding Autism. She has 20 years clinical experience, having worked for many years in the field of alcohol misuse with the Worcestershire Community Alcohol Team.
Practice Manager
Sarah Moonan graduated with a BSc in Psychology in 2020 before subsequently going on to train as a Psychotherapist and has recently completed her MSc in Psychotherapy and Counselling at the University of Warwick. Prior to joining the service as Trainee Practice Manager, she worked as a Mental Health Support Worker and has a particular interest in supporting young people who have been subjected to trauma.

Kath has an MSc in Psychology, alongside her role as Assistant Practice Manager she works as an Eating Disorders Clinician and has extensive experience in frontline NHS administration.

Dr. Kat Godfrey-Djundja
Kat is a Counselling Psychologist and Integrative Psychotherapist. She has 9 years clinical experience working with adults across a variety of settings, initially in the field of substance misuse. In this time she has worked in two different psychology departments within the NHS in Worcestershire, taking referrals from both primary and secondary care. Kat describes herself as an Integrative Psychotherapist with strong roots in the psychoanalytic field. She is a native German speaker and is able to offer therapy in German.
Dr. Shalini Masih
Shalini is a qualified Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, currently undergoing further training at the Tavistock Clinic in London. She gained a PhD in Psychology in 2015 and has taught at various institutions up to Masters level, including counselling and psychotherapy courses at Birkbeck College, University of London. She has 14 years clinical experience working with both young people and adults across a variety of settings, specialising in clients presenting with complex issues. She is a published author, participates in a wide range of study groups and has gained several prestigious awards in the field of psychoanalysis. Shalini is able to offer therapy in both English and Hindi.
Dr. Ali Khoshfetrat
Ali is a qualified Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. He is also a lecturer in clinical psychology at a local university and has taught psychotherapy and counselling modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Ali is an Integrative Psychotherapist with strong roots in the psychodynamic tradition. With over 10 years’ experience, he has worked with patients with complex problems ranging from depression and anxiety to more long-standing issues such as relational difficulties. Ali has worked in Ireland and the UK in both private and public healthcare settings.
Alison Justice
Alison is a BACP Accredited Psychodynamic Counsellor with over 10 years’ experience in an agency contracted to the NHS. Before training as a counsellor she worked in Business as well as previously in an Academic setting. She is about to complete a course in clinical supervision and facilitates a diploma level supervision group at Gloucestershire Counselling Service. She has a specialist interest in un-mourned loss, as well as a research interest in the impact of inter-generational issues as manifested in therapeutic work.
Lorna Cavalier
Lorna had 8 years experience as a Mental Health Nurse before going on to pursue further training as an Integrative Counsellor at Iron Mill College in Exeter. She has worked extensively in various mental health settings, both in primary and secondary care, and is experienced with working with clients with complex difficulties, along with individuals enduring long term mental health problems such as addiction and substance misuse. She is especially passionate about the potential of integrating art into the therapeutic process.
Neil Phipps
Neil completed a 4 year Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in 2022, acquiring further training in Transactional Analysis and Neuro Linguistic Programming. His first degree was in English Literary Studies and Education Studies, and in his practice, he endeavours to integrate more creative approaches into the therapeutic process including poetry, journaling, and other forms of art. Neil has been a listening volunteer for the Samaritans since 2017.
Amy Drake
Amy completed her Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in 2018 and works with both adults and children. She has worked with local schools across Worcestershire, delivering counselling support to children as well as specialist training to staff on enhancing children’s mental health awareness. Amy will often use psychoeducation tools and other creative methods if needed in session.
Stephanie Bews-Pugh
Stephanie is a psychologist with twenty years’ experience providing support to clients within various mental health and addictions services. She holds a post-graduate Diploma in Applied Psychology and Counselling, with previous undergraduate and Masters degrees in psychology and literature. Stephanie describes her therapeutic approach as integrative - drawing on person-centred, CBT and psychodynamic perspectives to meet clients' needs. She has a specialist expertise in issues surrounding experiences of exclusion and of being ‘different.’ She is passionate about supporting others to identify and develop their personal strengths and values. Much of this experience has been gained through providing post-diagnostic support to people receiving diagnoses of Autism or ADHD, including women and girls.

Diane is an ACP registered Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and completed the specialist training with the Birmingham Trust for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. She has experience in CAMHS NHS clinics, has supported children and families in hospitals, has worked with Looked After Children and Children with Learning Disabilities. Diane is experienced in supporting patients with autism and neurodiversity and provides an individualised approach to enable them to access a therapeutic experience. She offers Infant and Parent work, parent work and consultations for professionals seeking support.
Moira Lowe
Moira is a Person-Centred Therapist with a Degree in Counselling from Worcester University. She has worked for over 6 years as a listener for the Samaritans, as well as working as a Bereavement Counsellor within a Hospice. Because of this she has acquired considerable experience dealing with issues of grief and loss and adopts a trauma informed approach with all her clients. In addition she brings a wealth of life experience to her role helping people from all walks of life find a path forward.
Colin Thomas
Colin is a Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). He has over 20 years’ experience working in both private and in NHS settings as well as clinical settings abroad. He has an interest in relationship issues and is able to work with couples in addition to individuals. Colin brings a largely integrative and person-centered approach to his practice.
Lisa Smart
Lisa qualified with a post-graduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with Children and Adolescents in 2004 and is accredited as a CBT therapist with the BABCP. Her interest and specialism is working with children, young people and parents or carers with 18 years experience of working in NHS child and adolescent mental health services. Lisa’s therapeutic work uses CBT for depression and/or anxiety related difficulties, and is experienced in working creatively according to individual children and young people’s age, needs and preferences. Lisa also has experience in working with adults using CBT or EMDR.
Sarah Applegate
Sarah is a trainee psychotherapist studying for an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. Her approach focuses primarily on gestalt and psychodynamic modalities to help clients explore their experiences. Sarah's skill lies in building a strong therapeutic alliance between client and therapist and tailors her approach to the specific needs of the client. She explores creative forms of therapy to help bring awareness and expression to feelings. Her interest includes working with older clients facing difficulties in their later stages of life. Sarah's first career was in teaching, mostly within alternative provisions and special education settings where she specialised in teaching and supporting young people with Autism, neurodiversity and learning difficulties.
Rachel Tuck
Rachel is a BACP Accredited practitioner with a BA in Integrative Counselling along with a specialist interest in-depth bereavement work. For 12 years she occupied the role of Practice Manager at Worcester Therapy Group, recently handing over those reigns but continuing as an Associate therapist. She has worked within hospice settings dealing with bereavement through cancer and has experience working with bereavement through suicide volunteering for SOBS charity (Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide). In addition Rachel has taught for many years on a Counselling Diploma at a local college.
Helen Medcalf
Helen has an MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy: Children and Adolescents and has 11 years clinical experience of working across all ages groups. Her interest and specialism is working with young people and has worked within Worcestershire’s Drug and Alcohol service for a number of years supporting children and adolescents with their emotional needs and building resilience. Helen also has experience of supporting children with Autism and takes an adaptive approach to her therapy to accommodate their needs. She is also qualified and has experience of treating adults with depression and anxiety disorders within NHS primary mental health care settings.
Fedja Dalagija
Fedja is a UKCP registered Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with over 18 years clinical experience gained in different settings including the NHS, as well as charitable organisations such Youth Counselling, Mind and the Red Admiral Project. He trained initially as a Counsellor before embarking on a lengthy training to become a Psychotherapist. Over the years Fedja has worked with a diverse range of client groups and endeavours to be sensitive to the effects of gender, class and race in his understanding of both individuals and couples.
Trudie Clark
Trudie is a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist with an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and a prior degree in Nursing Studies. She has worked for 37 years as an RMN (Registered mental nurse) in a variety of mental health settings, and more recently worked in the community specialising in older adult mental health. She adopts a largely integrative approach, incorporating the theories of Gestalt, Person Centred and Attachment Theory and uses creative approaches such as art to enable clients to express themselves if they can’t find the words.
Christopher Walmsley
Christopher has an MSc. in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. His expertise is in the treatment of 16+ adolescents and his particular skill is in the adaptation of his therapeutic style to suit each individual, with the aim of providing a safe and secure place for the client to begin to explore their difficulties and experiences. Chris adopts a person-centred approach primarily but is also able to incorporate other modalities into his work e.g. CBT, Solution Focused, and Attachment Based interventions.

He is a trained couples therapist, psychosexual therapist and is a member of the College of Sex and Relationship Therapists (COSRT). Mark has additional training in working with trauma and supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community. He also has 14 years experience working in sexual health.

Brigitta is a BACP accredited counsellor who qualified in Austria and uses a wide variety of systemic, psychodramatic and person-centred approaches in her practice. She worked for the NHS as a cancer psychology counsellor and trained groups in mental health related topics. Prior to this she gained an MSc in Business Management as well as an MSc in Coaching and Supervision accredited by the Sigmund Freud University in Vienna. Her first career was in Human Resources before embarking on a new career to train to become a Counsellor and Coach in 2008. More recently she has completed further training as a Psychodrama Practitioner. Brigitta is a native German speaker and is able to offer therapy in German.
Timothy Bird
Tim has an MSc. in Counselling and is currently pursuing further clinical training for his Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. He has over 5 years clinical experience working in a variety of mental health and wellbeing settings both in the NHS and charity sector, supporting clients with a wide range of needs, including those experiencing anxiety, depression, bereavement and domestic abuse.
Nicole Nicolson
Nicole is a Registered Mental Health Nurse with over fifteen years experience in the NHS, working in acute adult mental health wards, forensic hospitals and community mental health teams. She is a qualified couples counsellor and an integrative therapist, drawing on psychodynamic, Gestalt and systemic approaches and has worked extensively with complex problems and difficulties. Nicole is currently undertaking further training to gain an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy.
Sarah Clay
Sarah is a Humanistic and Integrative therapist with 10 years experience working in private practice. She previously had a career as a Physiotherapist within the NHS and retrained to gain a BSc in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling from the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute. Sarah has an interest in how the past informs the present and also the connection between mind and body. She has worked with clients who are suffering physical illnesses which have an impact on their mental health.

Tom Barker-Phillips
Tom is a qualified counsellor having gained a Diploma in Person-Centred, Humanistic Therapy. He has specialist experience of working at depth with addictions, having worked for many years in a local Drug and Alcohol service, which has also given him experience of supporting carers and family members affected by those suffering from substance use. In addition, Tom has experience supporting the victims and perpetrators of domestic violence. Before qualifying as a counsellor he worked in various care settings, as well as previously having a pastoral role within a school, supporting young people as well as staff.
Loraine Proctor
Loraine has a MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice and has 8 years clinical experience of working with adult survivors of Rape and Sexual Abuse. She is a qualified EMDR Practitioner specialising in working with complex trauma such as PTSD and has worked in this field since qualifying. Loraine takes an integrative approach using a range of interventions to meet the individual needs of her clients. She also has experience of treating adults with depression and anxiety disorders using CBT interventions. Additionally, she is a clinical supervisor supporting other professionals and is currently a Higher Education Lecturer, Teaching Counselling and Psychotherapy university degree courses.

Emma Powell
Emma qualified with a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from Goldsmiths University and is a trained Couples Counsellor with 16 years experience. She specialises in Psychosexual Therapy (PST) and trained with the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), the UK’s leading organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues. She also has specialist experience of helping individuals with various forms of sex-addiction. Emma is also a Registered Nurse and Health Visitor with nearly 30 years experience working within the NHS.

Claire Coldicott
Claire is a qualified Relate-trained relationship therapist and member of BACP. She draws on systemic and psychodynamic approaches to support couples (and individuals) experiencing relationship difficulties such as conflict, poor communication, infidelity, sexual incompatibility and life-stage changes. Claire has over 30 years' work experience in the voluntary sector including volunteering as a rape and sexual abuse counsellor. She also has experience of working with LGTBQ couples and those in a variety of relationship styles including polyamory, ethical non-monogamy and open relationships.

She spent ten years in the field of management training before switching focus to train as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. Maria holds a post graduate diploma in CBT and has spent over three years working with the Cruse Bereavement charity as both a volunteer and as an active member of both the local branch and training committees.
