We have a very limited number of reduced-fee therapy spaces available, delivered by qualified counsellors undergoing further training.
Our trainees are handpicked by our Clinical Director and are fully supervised by a UKCP registered Supervisor. All our therapists are fully insured and members of a relevant professional body.
Since this service is provided by trainee therapists, it will not be suitable for all mental health presentations particularly those of a complex nature. This may include one of the following, though not exclusively:
- A diagnosis of a personality disorder
- Current or recent psychosis
- Severe trauma
- History of violence or abuse
- Current suicidal ideation or recent attempt
More about the process
After contacting the service you will receive an initial call from one of our admin team who will send a short questionnaire by email for you to complete. These questions are designed to assess your suitability for work with a trainee, before taking the application to the next stage which includes a full assessment with one of our team.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide assessments at a lower fee, therefore you will be required to pay in full at the time of booking.
Following your assessment you will be contacted within two weeks to let you know the outcome of the application process, and whether you are eligible to access our reduced fee scheme. If it’s been decided that you’re not suitable, for one of the reasons listed above perhaps, you can still receive a referral to one of our more experienced therapists. This however will be charged at our normal sessional fee. It may be possible in exceptional circumstances to negotiate a small discount with the therapist you are allocated to, usually in exchange for a commitment to therapy over the longer term. Please be aware that this is entirely at the therapists own discretion and can only be discussed when you meet with them in person.
Please feel free to contact the service if you have any further questions, or if you want to make an application and progress to booking an assessment.
